Jon Monks

My Name is Jon Monks and I run, or should it be walk, a business called Shepherds Walks.

I was a former shepherd, but now I take people out walking either for a days walk or on complete holidays on some of the long distance paths that run through this great county of Northumberland.

What I do that's totally unique is that when we walk I very much look at the landscape from a shepherd's perspective. I tell the walkers things such as why we have different breeds of sheep in certain situations, what are hefted sheep and what are sheep stells used for.
